Outstanding Achievement Award 2016
Recognizes exceptional investigators who have made significant advances in accelerating the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging through translational research.
Dr. Peter St George-Hyslop was awarded the 2016 Weston Brain Institute Outstanding Achievement Award for his contribution to the generation of several Alzheimer’s disease mouse models for drug screening tools. In addition, he showed that immunization with amyloid beta peptides reduces neuropathological and cognitive deficits in an Alzheimer’s mouse model, which is being replicated in humans in clinical trials for mild Alzheimer’s disease.
