Dr. Philippe Huot

Dr. Huot is a movement disorder neurologist at Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), scientist at CHUM Research Centre and assistant professor of medicine (pharmacology) at Université de Montréal. Dr. Huot was trained by world-renowned experts, Drs. André Parent, Jonathan Brotchie, Susan Fox and Anthony Lang. Since his appointment as an independent researcher, Dr. Huot has built a translational research programme centred on motor and non-motor manifestations of Parkinson’s disease. Using a breadth of cutting-edge post-mortem techniques and state-of-the-art animal models of Parkinson’s disease, Dr. Huot seeks to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying dyskinesia and psychosis, and to bring new therapies from pre-clinical settings through to clinical testing. Dr. Huot’s work has been published in over 40 peer-reviewed papers.
