Dr. Michel Panisset

Dr. Panisset is Co-Director of the Andre Barbeau Movement Disorders Unit, the largest movement disorders clinic in Canada, a Professor of Neurology at the Department of Medicine at the University of Montreal, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University. He completed his MD at the University of Montreal before continuing his studies in neurology and neuropsychology in the U.S. and France. He completed his Fellowship in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease at the McGill Centre for Studies in Aging, and was Director of this institution from 1998 to 2004. Dr. Panisset was the Director of the Douglas Hospital’s Brain Bank (2001-2004) and the President of the Canadian Movement Disorders Group (2003-2005). His research interests include pharmacotherapy, dopamine and behavior, functional neurosurgery for movement disorders, and gait difficulties.
